CS371P Fall 2021 Week 12: Vishal Tak
Week 12 Progress in OOP.

1. What did you do this past week?
This past week, I finished the Darwin project with my partner, my game design project, and Neural Nets homework. I also worked on more Leetcode preparation for future interviews. As the semester is coming to an end, I have more final projects to work on during the Thanksgiving break.
2. What’s in your way?
As of now, the grading system for this class is in my way. I’m a bit worried about the structure as the semester is coming to an end. The grades not getting updated frequently with the use of virtual tokens or the tokens themselves not getting updated kind of puts everything up in the air when it comes to grading.
3. What will you do next week?
Next week, I plan on taking a break and enjoying time with my family for Thanksgiving. Keeping that in mind I also have a final project to work on for my game design class which will be due right after the break ends. I’m not a fan of having to work on assignments over breaks but will try to do my best to help my team succeed in the final project.
4. If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #13: Why Extends Is Evil?
I haven’t read the paper yet but I’m excited to read about the evil nature of extends. I enjoyed reading the previous papers as they provided a lot of insight on good design and am looking forward to reading the next iteration on inheritance.
5. What was your experience of vector and allocator?
I thought vector and allocator were pretty straightforward topics once we did the exercises. Although we aren’t always given a lot of time to solve the exercises, going over them after class helped my understanding of the topics.
6. What made you happy this week?
Being able to finish all of my projects made me happy this week. I was bombarded with assignments from all of my classes and finishing them felt relaxing.
7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week is to manage your time wisely over the Thanksgiving break. If you have assignments to work on, get started on them early so that you can spend more time with your family. It's the final push before the semester is over so make it count and enjoy!
